The new center of the University in Brasov

The "Dimitrie Cantemir" Christian University has been integral part of the higher education system of Brasov since 1999, having in the city of Brasov two faculties with an economic profile: the Faculty of International Economic Relations and the Faculty of Financing, Banking and Accounting. Both of them function according to the Romanian Government Decision No. 696 of 17 August 2000, being authorized by the National Council for Academic Assessment and Accreditation (C.N.E.A.A.). The accounting and financial-banking fields represent those branches of the economy that will always offer attractive jobs to the young people with specialized higher education, and in the field of international business there are promising prospects as the national economy is being re-launched and Romania integrated into the Atlantic structures. Our graduates have prospects for a successful, well remunerated career in state-owned companies as well as in private companies, within the economic and international departments of ministries, local and county councils, prefect's offices as well as in banks, insurance and reinsurance companies, international financial-banking bodies, etc.

    Brasov-Academic, Cultural and Tourism Center

Brasov, an eight century old medieval town, is a powerful industrial, cultural and academic center and, moreover, it is well-known as a wonderful site for tourism. Situated in the center of the country, Brasov and its surroundings represent, by their historical monuments and other impressive sites for tourism, an attractive location all the year round. The itineraries may include the Bran Castle and Risnov Fortress, trips in the mountains and Poiana Brasov or Predeal, all real opportunities for winter sports, as well as city sightseeing.

    The Black Curch

    The Golden Stag Stage
The old city center dominated by The Black Church, the most representative Gothic monument in Romania, lodges in the City Council Square a traditional international manifestation-The Golden Stag pop music festival- which attracts every year a great number of important national and international pop singers. St. Nicholas Church The oldest part of the city, "Scheii Brasovului", represents an authentic proof of the on going cultural life of this medieval city. The first Romanian School founded five centuries ago and the Statue of Coresi the Deacon, the first editor and publisher of Romanian books in the 16th century are to be found in the yard of St. Nicholas Church, built by the Romanian Medieval Rulers. In addition to these cultural and historical sites, there is the " Muresenilor House" - a memento of the Transylvania Gazette, the first newspaper of the Romanian population in Transylvania, and also the "Andrei Saguna" National College where the "Crai Nou" operetta by Ciprian Porumbescu was played for the first time. The contemporary Brasov has an active cultural life carried out in its cultural and artistic institutions such as The Drama Theatre, The Musical Theatre, The "Gheorghe Dima" Philarmonic Orchestra as well as in its numerous libraries, museums and cinemas. Nowadays, Brasov is also an important academic center where over 20,000 students study in the existing state and private universities.
